We’re seeking a hands‑on Accountant (General Ledger) to join our swimwear client's team and support the financial operations of a fast‑growing omni‑channel apparel business.
This role is ideal for someone with strong accounting expertise who thrives in a dynamic, retail‑driven environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting across all sales channels, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and supporting process improvements as we continue to scale.
Key Responsibilities
Post journal entries, allocations, and accruals across multiple business channels (retail, e‑commerce, wholesale).
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate classification of transactions across cost centers and entities.
Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations, including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, AR, and accrued expenses.
Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations between retail, e‑commerce, and corporate entities.
Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation.
Reconcile and analyze credit card and payment platform accounts (POS, Shopify, Amazon, etc.).
Prepare and file multi‑state sales tax returns and support nexus compliance for both physical and online sales.
Support month‑end close and financial reporting cycles, ensuring accurate and timely results.
Partner with Operations, E‑Commerce, and Retail teams to understand financial impacts of promotions, returns, and inventory adjustments.
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows and strengthen internal controls.
Assist with year‑end audits and ad hoc financial projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in apparel, retail, or omni‑channel environments.
Solid understanding of GAAP and strong general ledger accounting skills.
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (experience integrating with e‑commerce platforms a plus).
Familiarity with multi‑state sales tax filings and e‑commerce sales tax nexus.
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ownership mentality.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with cross‑functional teams.
