Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead efforts to enhance product quality, optimize engineering systems, deliver capital projects, and ensure customer satisfaction at the Timken Aurora Bearing facility, while providing technical leadership and mentoring the engineering team.
Essential Responsibilities
Serve as a key partner in plant business planning and translate business goals into measurable engineering objectives.
Lead a team that reviews customer drawings and specifications, provides manufacturability recommendations, and manages capital projects and contractor work (machine rebuilds, utilities, etc.).
Apply CAD/CAE tools to perform analysis, develop process layouts, and evaluate tooling to support new product introductions and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with manufacturing and product engineering to define process capabilities, tolerances, cycle times, and implement process improvements.
Drive cost-reduction initiatives by evaluating and implementing alternative process approaches.
Provide technical support to internal and external customers, ensuring engineering solutions are safe, producible, and meet requirements.
Lead talent management for engineering and technical staff to retain key contributors and develop future leaders and subject-matter experts.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
At least five years of experience in manufacturing engineering leadership, preferably in bearings or precision components.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tolerancing and quality practices.
Experience with CAD/CAE software and tooling/process evaluations.
Proven project management and capital spending oversight skills.
