Overview

Datacenter Security Operations Manager in CO+I Physical Security, part of a global team delivering a trustworthy security program to protect personnel, infrastructure, data, and confidential information foundational to the Microsoft Cloud. The role is responsible for physical security operations at datacenters and related facilities within the applicable region and collaborates with vendor security guarding staff to meet security requirements, mitigate risks, and respond to residual risks. The position may require travel and on-call availability as described below. Responsibilities

Security Program Management : Oversee the implementation of physical security policies and procedures at applicable datacenters, ensuring the vendor guard force has resources and information to deliver services that meet Microsoft and customer requirements to protect people, information, and critical infrastructure. Security Operations and Compliance : With minimal assistance, perform analysis to detect security threats, alerts, or risks, escalate to critical incident response teams or external authorities as needed, implement security protocols to protect personnel and assets, and maintain security programs in areas of responsibility. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with datacenter operations, security systems, and other Microsoft stakeholders to ensure secure and continuous operations while maintaining a One Team, One Microsoft environment. Program Maturity and Optimization : Continuously improve the efficiency and maturity of the physical security program at Microsoft datacenters, use data to recommend strategies, optimize resources (including budget management and forecasting), and scale, automate, and simplify processes where possible. Security Leadership : Receive escalations/notifications of physical security and business-impacting events, triage appropriately, and keep regional leadership informed; ensure necessary personnel respond effectively during incidents. On-Call and Travel : On-call 24x7x365 with periodic travel within or outside the assigned city/metropolitan area. Risk Identification and Reporting : Contribute to risk identification for datacenter insecurity and disruption, summarize and report risk analyses to internal stakeholders and leaders. Required Qualifications: 2+ years' experience in Security Program or Program Management or related field 1+ years experience working on physical security policies and procedures within large facilities Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check (required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter). Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business Risks or related field and 5+ years' experience in Security Program or Program Management OR equivalent experience. Salary information and benefits vary by location. Security IC3: typical base pay range USD 76,800 - 151,900 per year; San Francisco Bay Area and NYC ranges may differ.
