Job Summary
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Formal training in architecture, engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of five (5) years of experience specializing in K-12 school facilities development as a consultant or as a School District employee
Must continuously possess a valid Driver’s License
Overview and Responsibilities
Reporting to PAUSD’s Director of Facilities and Construction, the Facilities Project Manager assists in building planning, design development, consultant coordination, and site communication relating to the construction, remodeling, and restructuring of facilities within the District
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Project Manager acts as a liaison between the Facilities Department and the Maintenance and Operations Department and the School Sites
Develop and implements plans to mitigate the impact of construction and construction sequencing on educational programs by working collaboratively with the sites, project consultants, and contractors
Coordinate commissioned architects and other consultants in the design of new and modernized facilities to ensure compliance with the Division of the State Architect specifications and requirements
Assist in the development and evaluation of construction plans
Make recommendations for architectural services, maintains contact with technical consultants and specialists on problems related to design and construction
Represent the District in discussions with or presentations to school staff, community groups, and local and state agencies
Develop and maintains relationships with administration, principals, and staff to evaluate and communicate special facilities needs related to education programs
Collaborate with Maintenance, Facilities, District leadership, Principals, and other District staff on issues and problems related to the maintenance and reconfiguration of the physical infrastructure
