Job Summary
Per job posting requirements, please provide approval of the job posting for the position of Driver CDL NE 1.
Class A CDL or B driver who can properly operate a commercial vehicle with a capacity of more than 20 tons, as well as knowing how to properly secure a load on a flatbed trailer and transport materials to and from specified destinations.
Must understand all the requirements per the FMCSA.

Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work. Job Function
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (including the following, other duties may be assigned):
Inspect/check each load against load paperwork and correct any problems prior to leaving warehouse. Drives truck to destination, prepares receipts for load picked up.
Properly secure load using blocks, chains, and straps before and after each delivery.
Tarp loads whenever required due to inclement weather.
Verify correct material is being unloaded and loaded at stops.
Collects payment for goods delivered on COD
Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations
Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. Loads and unloads truck.
Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water
Performs emergency roadside repairs such as installing light bulbs, tire chains
Positions blocks, chains, and straps around items to secure cargo during transit
Match Bill of Ladings to Work Orders and turn in daily.
Make deliveries in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. Lay over for 1 night when needed at Affiliated Metals expense.
Required Skills
Must have a valid Utah CDL and clean driving record.
Read, write and understand English.
Basic communication skills for dealing with customers, vendors, and other employees.
Basic knowledge of aluminum/stainless steel products a plus
