For 24 years, OASIS Opportunities has been atransformative nonprofit with a powerful mission: to remove barriers to academic success by providing clothing and basic necessities to students in Hillsborough County Public Schools. We serve with compassion, dignity, and hope — last year alone, reaching over 19,000 students across multiple programs.
The culture of caring and camaraderie combined with our successful business model make OASIS truly special. We partner directly with School Social Workers, operate with a passionate team of part-time staff, a deeply committed volunteer network, donated space within the school system, and a loyal base of repeat donors. Our values are rooted in service, collaboration, and community impact — and our financials are strong and stable.
As we prepare to celebrate our 25th anniversary, we are seeking a visionary and hands-on Executive Director to lead us into our next chapter of growth and impact.
Position Overview
The Executive Director is the chief executive of OASIS Opportunities and is responsible for the overall strategic, operational, and financial leadership of the organization. This role requires a dynamic leader who is passionate about educational equity, skilled in nonprofit management, and energized by fundraising, community engagement, and team-building.
Key Responsibilities
Champion the mission, vision, and values of OASIS Opportunities. Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and execute strategic plans. Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven organizational culture. Lead all fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant writing, corporate partnerships, and events. Strengthen and expand the donor base, ensuring sustainable revenue growth. Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for OASIS in the community and media.
Operations & Program Oversight
Oversee day-to-day operations, including program delivery, logistics, and volunteer coordination. Ensure efficient use of resources, compliance with policies, and alignment with strategic goals. Manage relationships with school district partners and other stakeholders. Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Board of Directors Monitor financial performance and ensure fiscal responsibility. Prepare regular financial and impact reports for the Board.
Team & Culture
Lead and support a team of dedicated part-time staff and volunteers. Promote a collaborative, respectful, and high-performing work environment. Recruit, train, and retain talent aligned with the organization’s values.
Qualifications
Proven experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and operations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Passion for educational equity and youth empowerment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Experience working with boards, volunteers, and community partners. Familiarity with Hillsborough County School System is a plus.
Compensation
Compensation is commensurate with experience with the opportunity for annual review and increase based on the success and financial health of the organization.
