Otis Worldwide Corporation is seeking a dynamic and experienced
Contracts Specialist, Insurance
to join our team. This role will support Otis’s business operations across the United States and Canada by managing insurance-related contract language and risk transfer strategies. This role ensures contractual compliance with Otis’s insurance standards and mitigates risk exposure through effective negotiation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Contracts and will be remote.
Key Responsibilities
Review and negotiate insurance and indemnity provisions in customer, vendor, and subcontractor contracts specific to U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions.
Ensure alignment with Otis’s corporate insurance program and local regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, Operations, and Risk Management teams to advise on insurance-related contract terms.
Coordinate with brokers and insurers to obtain certificates of insurance, endorsements, and policy documentation.
Support claims and litigation teams by identifying contractual obligations and insurance coverage triggers.
Maintain clause libraries and templates tailored to U.S. and Canadian operations.
Monitor changes in insurance regulations and industry standards across both countries.
Provide training and guidance to internal teams on insurance contract best practices.
Enroll Otis in Contractor or Owner-controlled insurance programs (CCIP/OCIP Enrollment).
Review CCIP/OCIP manuals and provide guidance to the contracts team on necessary contractual CCIP/OCIP clarifications or redlines.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Legal Studies, or related field; JD or professional insurance designation (e.g., CPCU, ARM) preferred.
7 years of experience in insurance contract review, preferably within the U.S. and/or Canadian markets.
Strong understanding of commercial insurance lines (GL, Auto, WC, Umbrella, Professional Liability).
Familiarity with contractual risk transfer and insurance certificate management.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools preferred.
Experience OCIP/CCIP enrollment preferred.
