Join Amazon’s mission to become Earth’s safest place to work. We are seeking a dedicated Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to lead the Global WHS Program implementation, blend hands-on safety management with strategic thinking, and protect our people while driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities As the WHS Manager, you will:
Be the site’s safety champion and drive safety initiatives in collaboration with Operations leadership.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, analyze safety data, and implement practical solutions that protect associates and support productivity.
Lead safety compliance efforts, perform site audits, analyze incident trends, and target improvements where they matter most.
Manage the first aid program and emergency response capabilities to ensure immediate care is available.
Translate safety data into actionable insights and engage associates to foster a safety culture.

– Transform safety culture through leadership and innovative solutions. Drive continuous improvement, leverage technology and data analytics for preventive safety measures, develop leadership plans, communicate expectations, and measure performance against WHS policies. Conduct site audits to address non-compliance.
Strategic Partnership & Influence
– Build partnerships with Operations leadership to integrate safety into every aspect of the business. Use data analysis and risk insights to influence positive change and drive strategic decision-making. Oversee recordkeeping, workplace organization, and WHS training programs.
Additional Job Elements
Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
Work in environments with varying noise levels and temperatures; outdoor loading areas may be exposed
Continuously climb and descend stairs (sites with stairs)
Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site
Travel and Shifts This position requires flexibility to travel 50–70% of the time and work various shifts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations
3+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management, or 2+ years of Amazon Safety (blue badge/FTE) experience
Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people
Master’s degree
Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
Certified Safety Professional
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leadership
Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability

Compensation and Benefits Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $63,100/year to $115,700/year, depending on market, knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company; depending on the role, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
