Safety Manager

applies advanced technical principles to manage all company safety programs, leading environmental health, ergonomic, and safety opportunities. Provides support and technical assistance in the administration of and compliance with environmental health and safety requirements. Develops and monitors programs that maintain safe and healthy working conditions. Promotes protection against accidents and environmental illnesses, and communicates safety and environmental health procedures. Develops and maintains production training tools to orient new employees and assist management with safety programs and policies. Schedule:

Day shift, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (schedule is flexible) Wage:

$120,000.00 - $130,000.00 annually, with annual bonus up to 20% of salary, subject to taxes and withholdings. Primary Responsibilities

Plans and implements safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, state (DOSH), and federal OSHA rules and regulations. Leads workers’ compensation processes, partnering with third-party administrator, HR, management, and injured workers; works with Operations to ensure prompt return-to-work. Identifies and interprets regulatory standards impacting operational exposures and guides compliance plans. Leads development of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and manages all JHA document control activities. Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices; develops corrective programs. Reviews and analyzes accidents and claim experience to identify loss trends; conducts improvement projects; maintains OSHA 300 logs. Develops, manages, and communicates best practices and tools for compliance. Conducts safety compliance audits and provides management reports with recommendations. Partners with management to ensure facility compliance with DOSH and OSHA standards. Manages audit and incident corrective actions to prevent recurrence via root cause analysis. Establishes safety performance metrics and promotes accountability and safety culture. Investigates safety concerns and workers’ compensation claims; provides quality internal customer service. Trains and coaches managers and supervisors on behavior-based strategies, incident investigation, hazard identification, and self-inspection. Coordinates safety training and awareness programs (Safety Orientations, First Aid/CPR, forklift and pallet truck certification, lockout-tagout, fire extinguisher training). Maintains safety records, including emergency evacuation rosters, toolbox talks, training signoffs, and MSDS inventory. Ensures compliance with meeting requirements; coordinates with safety committee to increase awareness and participation. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or related field preferred or equivalent experience. OSHA 10 Certification preferred. OSHA 30 Certification preferred. 5+ years’ experience in a safety role supporting manufacturing preferred. Knowledge of OSHA and/or state rules and safety regulations; safety experience specific to food processing; Good Manufacturing Practices. Adult learning theory and training methodology; project management concepts. Strong writing skills; ability to read, write, and speak English (second language a plus). Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and adaptability; proficient with Microsoft Office; capable of developing reports and presenting to management and regulators. Ability to manage, motivate, and collaborate in a team-based environment; capable of facilitating and leading teams. Ability to develop capital improvement cost/benefit analyses and related forms. Work effectively in a general business environment with focus on quality and customer service. Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform essential duties with reasonable accommodations. Office environment with production floor exposure to chemicals, wet floors, high voltage, and hot water/steam. Ability to work around temperature variations. Frequent sitting, standing, walking; ability to climb stairs. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and move objects safely with proper body mechanics.
