Starting/new grad rate: $42.86 One weekend per month + other shifts as needed. Responsibilities
Under general supervision, safely perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies using an MRI system. Prepare patients, position for exam, set imaging parameters, acquire images, perform computer processing, and display images. Select appropriate imaging protocols for patient studies and perform quality assurance scans as required. Work cohesively as a team member within the MRI Department and consult appropriate content experts as needed (e.g., radiologist, nurse, child life specialist). Rotate to MRI scanners across the assigned department as needed. Verify patient information per Joint Commission guidelines (name, date of birth, medical record number, MRI exam ordered). Prepare patients, position for exams, set parameters per protocol, perform processing, and display images for clinical and research patients; competent in routine outpatient exams with and without contrast; optimize scan parameters for patient condition to maintain diagnostic quality. Manage MRI safety components for all exams and participate in clinical care coordination. Inserts IV catheters and prepares for intravenous injection of MR contrast agents, including use of MR-compatible power injector; recognize contraindications and monitor for adverse reactions; document injections in the EMR. Perform point of care testing (POCT) where applicable. Instruct patients and visitors on MRI safety procedures; ensure adherence to safety policies; act as final safety check prior to scanning and clarify protocols as needed. Identify hazardous system malfunctions; secure area and remove patients/personal from the magnet bay during emergencies. Perform scheduled quality control procedures on MRI equipment and record QA results; report potential problems to supervisor. Assist other department staff with duties such as scheduling, transporting patients, stocking inventory, and filing. Qualifications
Certificate/Diploma in medical imaging required Associate's degree preferred MRI Registered Technologist with ARRT or ARMRIT within 1 year BLS within 90 days Per-diem weekend coverage (as applicable) Work Details
