Job Summary:
The CVOR Surgical Technologist assists in cardiac and vascular surgical procedures and supports other surgical cases as needed. The technologist must have strong experience in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) procedures, including CABG, valve replacements, TEVAR, and TAVR. This role requires precise sterile technique, collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia staff, and adaptability to a dynamic teaching environment.
Schedule & Call:
Shift: 06:45–17:15, 4x10-hour days
Call: Required for cardiac procedures (approx. 6 per month; may increase if short-staffed)
Weekend Call: 24-hour weekend shifts may apply
Floating: May float within scope and to sister facilities
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 18 months (2+ years preferred) in CVOR and vascular surgery
Certifications: BLS required; NBSTSA or NCCT preferred
Travelers: First-time travelers accepted
Key Skills:
CABG, valve replacement (mitral / aortic), TEVAR, TAVR, vascular grafts, and thoracotomy procedures
Aseptic and sterile technique, instrumentation, and case preparation
Proficiency with Da Vinci Xi, cell saver, and fiber-optic equipment
Strong knowledge of cardiac and vascular surgical protocols
Notes:
Teaching Facility: Must be comfortable assisting with student and staff training
Pre-employment Testing: EKG and Pharmacology exams required (max 2 attempts)
Flu & COVID Vaccines: Required (medical / religious exemptions only)
