Join our team as a Local CDL Route Driver, responsible for safely operating an automated truck to collect solid waste in Payette, ID. Previous waste experience is a significant advantage!

• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00am – until the route is complete (typically 8-11 hours per day)
• Occasional Saturdays

As a driver, your responsibilities include operating automated trucks, collecting solid waste, and transporting it to disposal sites. You will work independently and are expected to deliver outstanding customer service consistently. You will receive cross-training in various truck types including Automated Side Load, Front Load, and Roll Off Trucks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste.
• Read route sheets and service customers as assigned by the dispatcher.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections, checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading waste and managing bins without assistance.
• Utilize hydraulic controls to lift and load refuse and operate compactors.
• Clean up areas around waste spills as needed.
• Complete daily reports on pre and post-trip inspections.
• Fuel the vehicle daily and maintain its physical appearance, including washing.
• Monitor waste bins for service requirement changes.
• Report on cart/container conditions and repairs.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Provide courteous interactions with customers and perform additional job-related duties as required.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

• Requires extensive physical activity, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
• Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times throughout the day.
• Work conditions may include exposure to physical risks, outside weather, and noise.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Valid Class A or B CDL license with air brake endorsement
• Pass a Criminal Background Check, Drug Panel Screening, and Motor Vehicle Report
• Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance
• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• Knowledge of D.O.T. laws
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending reports in English
