Scout’s business is both the management of private energy funds and the operation of the oil and gas assets it owns. The current employee base is approximately 1000 with 175 employees in the Dallas (headquarters) office. Scout is seeking an experienced Division Order Analyst to join their corporate office in Dallas, Texas. Of particular focus will be ownership transfers and revenue and ensuring joint interest billing and revenue deck accuracy. The Division Order Analyst is responsible for the proper distribution of revenues obtained from oil and/or gas production or other mineral deposits, which includes the ongoing maintenance of the ownership of those wells. This position will report to Scout’s Land Manager as a part of our Land department. Responsibilities
Analyze, calculate and maintain record title ownership and division of interest utilizing title opinions, leases, deeds, probate proceedings, curative, etc. Interact with working interest owners, royalty and excess royalty owners, contractual partners, mineral owners and Governmental Agencies to answer complex inquiries and provide information Request documentation to cure title requirements related to ownership records, joint interest billings and payment of royalties including name/address changes, legal suspense, escheat issues Establish, update and maintain joint interest billing and revenue decks Create new well set-ups, Landman analysis and reports, Title Analysis, Research, Probate/Judgements, Calculations of all interest types, Ad valorem tax liaison, Suspense/release of owner’s royalties, Acquisitions/Divestitures, Escheat, Internal set up of new owner numbers and maintain all electronic and paper records (spreadsheets) Interface with accounting regarding royalty and joint interest billing payments, corrections adjustments, reverse and rebooks Communicate with working interest and royalty interest owners in response to division order inquiries regarding payment issues, verification of well interests and interest calculations Review owner information as part of the escheat reporting process Skills & Specifications
Thorough understanding of revenue payments in a Land Department Competent Excel and Word software skills Verbal and written communication skills to support positive interactions with other departments and parties when making inquiries Self-Motivated and detail-oriented Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Work well with others and with minimal requirements Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field a plus, but not required 2-4 years of experience in a Division Order Analyst role Prior use and understanding of Enertia is a plus Seniority level
