The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Target Business Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by :
Analyze sales data to evaluate product, sub-category, and category performance, and prepare weekly recaps with insights and recommendations for cross-functional teams.
Collaborate with the Key Account Manager and Target buying team to develop and optimize inline and seasonal assortment and inventory plans, including performance metrics and inventory targets.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with Target Inventory Analysts, Financial Planners, and merchant teams through effective and timely communication of insights.
Provide comprehensive category and channel insights using syndicated data, monitor competitive activities, and offer strategic recommendations to sustain competitive offerings.
Forecast market trends, promotional performance, and sales outcomes, ensuring alignment between demand and sales plans while maintaining forecast accuracy.
Contribute to the annual sales plan development with data-driven insights, including New Product Introduction (NPI) projections and analytics for the line review process.
Manage inventory health reporting, trend analysis, and strategic requests, supporting weekly order reviews and identifying opportunities for inventory adjustments.
Collaborate with the sales leader to develop fact-based proposals, enhance marketing campaign effectiveness, and foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of CPG sales or analytics experience in a private, public, government or military environment
OR
High school diploma and eight (8) years of CPG sales or analytics experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :
Master's degree in sales / analytics from an accredited institution
Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, PowerBI, Numerator) with the ability to navigate efficiently and learn quickly
Solid knowledge of retail channels, retailer unique positioning and in market needs.

This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four (4) days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
Travel : May include up to 10% Domestic / International
