Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

for the Endpoint Protection Product (EPP) sensor engineering team. SDETs architect and implement testing frameworks, automated tools, and test harnesses, contributing to robust end-to-end endpoint protection functionality. You will participate in technical design discussions and code reviews and collaborate with development teams to ensure quality across new capabilities. Work on our endpoint product embedded in operating systems to deliver an efficient, reliable experience for customers. Success In This Role Means

Automating test processes for speed, reproducibility, and scalability (integration tests, system tests, performance tests, unit tests, etc.). Reviewing feature code for functional and non-functional quality requirements. Breaking software systems in creative and useful ways. Collaborating within and across teams to deliver quality software. Taking ownership, handling responsibility, challenges, and aggressive goals. Building elegant, robust, and reliable solutions for complex technical problems. What You’ll Do

Work with a team of engineers to maintain a culture of high product quality and excellence. Analyze complex sensor software features and design effective test strategies and designs. Extend the codebase using Python, C++, and other tools to increase testability and debuggability of sensor code. Design and implement specialized tests for system-wide qualities including performance, scalability, and OS compatibility. Collaborate with product and release management to control risk and streamline release cycles. Debug complex sensor issues to identify root causes and improve test coverage. Lead rigorous product and test code reviews to improve security and robustness. Apply engineering best practices (secure coding, testing paradigms, debugging, performance measurement, CI/CD, OS internals) to ensure sensor performance and reliability. What You’ll Need

7+ years of hands-on SDET/test automation development experience. Computer science degree or equivalent experience. Strong programming skills in Python and ability to read & understand C/C++ code. Extensive experience with: White-box testing techniques and code review CI/CD frameworks and testing methodologies Windows OS internals, components, and APIs Performance profiling tools and crash dump analysis Demonstrated ability to: Design and implement comprehensive test strategies Lead and mentor team members Work effectively in a globally distributed team Communicate technical concepts clearly to various audiences Proven track record in product development and release cycles Bonus Points

Previous experience testing security products, endpoint agents, or EDR solutions Experience working with low-level code or Mac/Win/Linux module development Knowledge of low-level OS internals, components, APIs, and design for supported platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux) Understanding of Event Driven architecture and cloud-native technologies Experience developing 24/7 enterprise software, including CI, testing, debugging, performance tracing, release management, and telemetry analysis Note: This role may require background and fingerprint checks as part of government customer requirements.
