Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Industrialization Engineer
to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining the process, equipment and tooling to fabricate functional prototypes using advanced manufacturing protocols and tools. This role is crucial to ensure that our team has the guidance and support needed to develop products that meet quality and performance standards. Key Responsibilities
Validation: Collaborate with the Engineering team to review and validate design products, ensuring feasibility and compliance with technical requirements Support the development and updating designs to ensure consistent fabrication practices Suggest and validate sub-assemblies Apply DFX (Design for Excellence) IEM principles Product Validation Builds Develop the protocol of fabrication for prototypes, describing details about fabrication processes, assembly and validation Develop and maintain SOPs for all equipment in the Fabrication Lab Design and optimize process flow and cycle times Define lead times and fabrication milestones for each job Coordinate feedback loops between design, fabrication, and testing teams Analyze fabrication data to identify bottlenecks and propose improvements for current and next builds Documentation and Quality Assurance: Maintain updated documentation of manufacturing processes, including work instructions and process flow diagrams for assigned projects Ensure that First-of-Kind covers all quality requirements by maintaining detailed documentation of validation and fabrication processes, including test reports and analysis Create final reports of the prototypes fabricated Ensure traceability and documentation of prototype builds Continuous Improvement Participation: Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and other improvement methodologies Coordinate technical training for technicians Manage KPI metrics such as on-time promise, right-first-time, and KPI dashboards Research and evaluate new technologies to improve processes Develop and evaluate plans for new technologies Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and safety protocols Willingness to learn and apply new skills in a manufacturing setting Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately Experience with metal fabrication (laser, press brake, bus bar) and assembly Experience with switchgear design and/or manufacturing is beneficial Compensation
The salary range for this role is $89,440 - $104,000 per year, based on location, experience, and qualifications. Why Join IEM
