Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company, home of the world-renowned Skunk Works®, is looking for a Multi Domain Control System (MDCX) Flight Test Engineer to provide on‑site support for unmanned air systems. The engineer will operate ground stations, develop test procedures, and assist in real‑time control room operations during ground and flight test activities. This role ensures that customer requirements are met, anomalies are resolved quickly, and mission system equipment is integrated and tested on airborne platforms.

Responsibilities

Support test efforts for unmanned air systems, including ground station operation and real‑time control room assistance.

Develop and implement test procedures for flight and ground test operations.

Interface with air system, pilot, and ground system teams to validate requirements and resolve anomalies.

Collaborate with Hardware Engineering, Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, and Integration/Test teams to maintain flexible test facilities.

Contribute to System Integration Testing, including System Integration Labs (SILs), deployable systems, and fixed facility systems.

Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.

9–15 years of professional experience for an A‑level 4 employee.

Experience with UAV technology and DoD flight test operations.

Top Secret clearance required; clearance preferred.

Must be willing to travel, work any shift, and work weekends and holidays.

Desired Skills

Developmental flight test support.

Lab or system test support.

Team leadership and technical reporting.

Systems engineering, network, or IT experience.

Security Clearance Top Secret clearance is required. This position requires a U.S. citizen and full government security clearance.

Benefits & Compensation Annual base salary range: $104,500 – $184,115.
