Job Overview Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, part of Lockheed Martin, is seeking a Systems Field Engineer to contribute to advanced aircraft development. The role involves providing technical services, guidance on installation, upgrades, maintenance, configuration management, and mission operations for Unmanned Air System (UAS) Ground Control Stations (GCS). The engineer will also support troubleshooting, training, and integration of mission systems onto airborne platforms.

Responsibilities

Provide technical services and guidance on UAS GCS installation, upgrades, maintenance, configuration, and mission operations.

Resolve technical problems, troubleshoot products, and modify them to meet customer requirements.

Train customers on system use and operational procedures.

Lead design, development, integration, and testing of mission system equipment for airborne platforms.

Build and install electrical and mechanical components, including cable assemblies, computer systems, and voice/data communication devices.

Organize and manage multiple prototype development areas.

Use specialized test equipment to verify system functionality.

Contribute to development of System Integration Labs, Deployable Shelters, and Fixed Facilities supporting various projects.

Collaborate with Hardware, Platform, Software Engineering, and Integration/Test teams to develop flexible test facilities.

Support maintenance, upgrade, and build-up efforts on legacy and new systems within budget and schedule constraints.

Ensure local efforts are coordinated and resolve problems as they arise while on travel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM or related field (preferably Electrical Engineering) or equivalent system admin/IT experience.

9‑15 years of professional experience (A‑level 4 employee).

Security+ Certification.

U.S. citizenship and DOD Top Secret Clearance.

Desired Skills

UAV Technology Experience.

Admin experience with Cisco, Juniper, Linux or RHEL, Windows, Windows Server, ESXi, networking.

Network Administration and troubleshooting.

Aircraft modification experience and avionic integration.

Technical report writing.

Experience operating/maintaining support equipment.

Integrated logistics support knowledge/experience.

Engineering technician experience.

Linux/Unix administration.

Willingness to travel and work any shift to support customer and test needs.

Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance, and the candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. Clearance level: Top Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite full-time; the work will be performed at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: 4×10‑hour day, 3 days off per week. Alternative schedules available for flexibility.

Pay Rate: Annual base salary range varies by state. For California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding major metros), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington DC is $109,200 – $192,510.
