Description
We are seeking an experienced Electro-Optical Engineer to join our team on-site at our supplier in Orlando, Florida. As an Electro-Optical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of cutting-edge Electro Optical / Infrared (EO/IR) sensor technologies, driving supplier coordination, integration, product innovation, and ensuring successful product delivery. A key focus of this role will be the integration of new EO/IR capabilities onto Lockheed Martin Aeronautics (LM Aero) platforms, requiring close collaboration with our engineering teams and the supplier's leadership and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the supplier's technical team to streamline integration and implementation of cutting‑edge Electro Optical / Infrared (EO/IR) sensor technologies
Act as conduit between LM Aero engineering and program management and the supplier’s engineering and program management
Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful product integration and delivery, including planning, monitoring, and tracking program tasks and schedules
Attend program meetings and ensure action items for both LM Aero and the supplier are completed and signed off
Provide technical direction and support to supplier technical personnel
Ensure compliance with Lockheed Martin's quality and security standards, as well as those of specific Aeronautics’ programs
Identify opportunities for digital transformation (DT) and facilitate knowledge
Occasional travel to Fort Worth, TX and flight test locations to support program needs
The selected candidate must have or be able to obtain a final DoD Secret security clearance prior to start of work, must maintain a DoD Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a SAP/SAR clearance.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Engineering or a related discipline
Familiarity with EO/IR Sensors, General Avionics, EW/CM, Radar, CNI or Fusion Systems
Strong Systems Engineering Development and Integration Skills
Familiarity with engineering oversight of supplier(s)
Exceptional interpersonal communication and presentation skills
Strong organizational skills – ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to identify and resolve task conflicts and issues
Willingness to work on-site at supplier location in Orlando, Florida
Desired Skills
Experience with Military or Government Programs
Fundamental understanding of Electro Optical, Infrared and/or Laser Systems with experience integrating those systems
Experience with aircraft integration and testing, particularly on a fighter aircraft program
Laboratory, Field, or Flight Test experience with Electro Optical, Infrared and/or Laser Systems
Professional and interpersonal communication skills required to interface with individuals from various disciplines while performing complex serial and parallel tasks
Demonstrated ability to deal with highly complex and challenging electronic systems
Robust experience interfacing with suppliers, customers, and subcontractors
Security Clearance Statement:
