Job Summary: The Planner is responsible for overseeing all planning activities to ensure successful delivery of the product. This position will be responsible for performing tasks and duties associated with product manufacture planning, including producing schedules, material lists, and production plans. Responsibilities
Plan and schedule workflow for every workstation according to the manufacturing sequence of operation and control lead time. Control material requirements as per BOMs, manufacturing sequence, assembly and production workflow. Expedite operations that delay schedules and adjust schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Prepare production reports, productivity reports, cost analysis graphs and delivery charts to drive process and performance improvement. Review and evaluate engineering drawings, calculate quantities and types of material, parts, or other items required; determine make versus buy; establish safety stock and reorder points; validate Bill of Materials in the MRP system. Set up all purchase requisitions for Purchasing personnel based on need dates, lead times and quantity requirements. Plan and release intercompany requirements and maintain Distribution Orders to ensure on-time delivery and right quality. Manage intercompany transfers and read, interpret, create and validate complex, multi-level Bills of Material. Evaluate shortages and manage prompt solutions, keeping stakeholders informed of potential problems as required. Read and review engineering drawings and documentation and coordinate any changes; maintain inventory levels to meet company goals. Support testing and certification requirements for new programs; preserve engineering revision control. Provide leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to less experienced staff as needed. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in an ERP/MRP environment. Experience: 3+ years of production planning and/or material planning experience. Computer Skills: Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001; MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with an MRP system. Other Skills: Knowledge of materials planning system (MRP/ERP), purchase order and manufacturing order generation process logic, and inventory management practices; ability to read and analyze engineering prints and drawings; strong communication and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with procurement of raw materials, standards, parts, and commodities related to aircraft lavatory production; self-starter with ability to drive improvement and meet deadlines. Ability to handle multiple projects with attention to detail; customer service oriented; ability to negotiate and influence; able to make timely decisions and communicate plans to stakeholders. Additional Preferred Skills: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or program management; experience reading and analyzing engineering prints and drawings. Senior
