Most notably Selene is a special servicer providing creative loan resolution strategies designed to preserve homeownership; keeping borrowers in their homes is the primary objective. This is accomplished through execution of various loss mitigation strategies, including, where feasible, converting to re-performing loans through loan modifications.Position Description

Selene is seeking a qualified candidate for the Fund Accountant position (“Accountant”). This position will work exclusively on certain residential credit separately managed accounts (“SMAs”). Reporting to the Controller of the SMAs, the successful candidate will manage and/or assist with various finance, accounting, tax, and reporting activities for the SMAs serviced by Selene. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the accounting and operations for residential mortgage loans and real estate owned (“REO”) assets. The Accountant will play a supporting role in the monthly close process, as well as support the monthly, quarterly and annual deliverable process, which includes annual audited financial statements. In addition, the Accountant will assist with any ad-hoc requests as needed from either external SMA investors, or internal departments. The Accountant will be expected to maintain a strong internal control environment and will also be responsible for ensuring that all critical processes are conducted in accordance with the SMAs documented policies and procedures. The ideal candidate must be inquisitive, a self-starter, and be comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast paced, and entrepreneurial environment. This position will provide exposure to many different areas of the business, including close interaction with multiple third-party vendors, and has the potential for responsibilities to expand quickly.Responsibilities* Play a supporting role in the month end close process* Assist with the monthly, quarterly and yearly SMA deliverable process* Assist with the annual audit* Prepare bank account reconciliations* Help reconcile differences between internal books and servicer data* Assist with ad hoc investor questions and reconciliations* Assist with ad hoc business development and corporate accounting asks* Participate in various projects to help strengthen internal controls and/or create efficienciesRequirements* Bachelor's degree in accounting, or equivalent business experience* Accounting experience: 2-3 years* Self-starter comfortable operating in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with evolving roles and responsibilities* Strong attention to detail* Effective verbal and written communication skills* Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations or MBA degree* Strong preference will be given to candidates with relevant residential mortgage loan / REO accounting and operations experience* Preference will be given to candidates with relevant private equity fund accounting experience* Preference will be given to candidates with SQL and Tableau knowledge* Microsoft Office (particularly strong in Microsoft Excel)### **Benefits**
