The role As a Principal Data Analytics Software Developer, you’ll be at the forefront of transforming how data drives decision-making in one of the UK’s most critical defence programmes. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing team, develop innovative analytics solutions and directly influence the strategic planning of the UK submarine support programme.

Day-to-day, you’ll provide a unique service for planning and analysing the UK submarine support programme. Specifically, you will be accountable for interfacing with senior customers to provide data analysis and business conclusion through operation of software models and application of expert business knowledge.

Leading and mentoring a team of Data Analysts to deliver high-impact analytics services

Interfacing with senior stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable insights

Defining and evolving the vision and strategy for analytics services

Managing cross-functional resources to deliver integrated software and analytics solutionsDeveloping and maintaining quality standards, processes and guidance for analytics outputs

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at our Babcock Technology Centre site in Bristol.

Essential experience of the Principal Data Analytics Software Developer

Proven experience developing Python-based software solutions for complex analytics challenges

Demonstrated success in leading data analytics or software development teams

Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complexity

Collaborative mindset with a track record of working across diverse teams and stakeholders

Experience within the defence sector, particularly submarines

Qualifications for the Principal Data Analytics Software Developer

A relevant degree in Maths, IT, Software, Data Science, Physics, Computing or similar

Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
