Role Overview As a Commercial Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our Naval Nuclear Enablement Team, driving commercial excellence across a portfolio of critical defence contracts. This is a dynamic and high-impact role where your expertise will directly support national security and defence innovation.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll lead commercial strategies, manage complex negotiations, and shape pricing frameworks that support both organic growth and strategic tenders.

Responsibilities

Leading commercial activities across contract lifecycles, ensuring governance and compliance.

Negotiating and managing pricing strategies to support new and existing opportunities.

Providing expert advice on proposals and contractual risk assessments.

Driving pragmatic commercial solutions that deliver win‑win outcomes.

Collaborating with internal teams and senior customer stakeholders to implement commercial frameworks.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based at the Babcock Technology Centre.

Essential Experience

Proven experience managing contracts across their full lifecycle in matrix organisations.

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify innovative solutions.

Skilled in proposal development for both organic and new growth opportunities.

Effective relationship management at senior levels with customers and stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications Functional qualifications achieved or in progress, such as:

Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)

International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM)

Post Graduate Certificate in Commercial Management (PGCCM)

Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
