Responsibilities
North Country Healthcare (NCH) is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to play an integral part in supporting the organization’s finance department. We’re looking for an energetic, detail-oriented individual who has enthusiasm for supporting the overall day-to-day functions in finance. You will assist with (but not limited to): Manage and coach a team of AP professionals, setting clear expectations and providing regular feedback. Assign and prioritize workload to keep processes running smoothly. Oversee daily invoice, purchase order, and expense report processing. Ensure payment approvals, documentation, and postings are completed accurately and on schedule. Monitor vendor accounts, reconcile statements, and address issues proactively. Manage vendor onboarding and maintenance, ensuring compliance with tax, insurance, and licensing requirements. Maintain employee expense reporting platform with updated General Ledger accounts for proper coding Ensure annual 1099 reporting compliance. Manage the unclaimed property and escheatment process for the organization Evaluate existing workflows and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate cross-functionality to streamline processes and strengthen internal controls. Evaluate and create reporting on AP performance metrics. Support external audits with required documentation as needed/requested. Assist with account reconciliation, month-end close and audit preparation. This position reports to the System Vice President of Finance, and regularly interacts with the Director of Accounting, as well as other leaders across the system to advance the strategic mission, vision, and values of the organization. In addition to the primary functions outlined above, the following are short-term goals for the NCH Finance Team: Building and fostering relationships with operational leaders Standardizing the accounts payable functions for the system Review and Maintenance of the vendor dictionaries for Accounts Payable/Materials Management Qualifications
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; Tertiary education of at least an Associate’s Degree preferred Proven experience (5+ years) in accounts payable or a related financial role, with at least 2 years of leadership experience Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and accounts payable processes Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as a team English speaking and writing skills are required.
