Job Summary: The Astronomy, Mathematics, and Physics Department seeks affiliates who can teach algebra-based introductory statistics courses starting in January 2026. These positions are assigned classes as needed by the department. Instruction will be in-person.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Teach in-person, algebra-based, introductory statistics courses, using curriculum provided by the Astronomy, Mathematics, and Physics Department.

Prepare and teach lectures, maintain accurate grade records, evaluate student performance, and use class time effectively.

Affiliate faculty are part-time employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, as needed, on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate Faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University's benefit program.

All such teaching assignments depend on budget and enrollment. Duties include meeting assigned classes consistent with University, College, and Department policies; providing instruction consistent with the course syllabus and department policies; and being available, either face-to-face or electronically, to students to provide additional academic support as needed.

Minimum Qualification Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.

Relevant teaching experience.

Work Schedule Will be dependent on the course schedule and availability of selected candidates.

These positions are benefits-eligible for workers' compensation and receive one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.

Pay Rate $3,225 per course.
