Purpose of the Position: The successful candidate will ensure the cleanliness and ensure compliance with safety rules of the Ferguson Center for the Arts.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position

Knowledge of cleaning methods and cleaning supplies

Skilled in the use of vacuum cleaner, buffer, scrubbing machine and other cleaning equipment

Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Ability to communicate orally and to maintain positive relations with faculty, staff, students and patrons

Ability to work a flexible schedule

Ability to work from 7:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required Education:

High school graduate or equivalent education and experience that equates to a high school diploma

Valid driver’s license

Experience:

Experience in housekeeping

Additional Consideration(s) Experience:

Basic computer skills such as e-mail and web browsing

Experience as a housekeeping worker in a college/university or hotel setting

Salary Information

Starting at $15.00 per hour, Commensurate with Education and Experience

Conditions of Employment

This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period

Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program

Ability to work a flexible schedule

Ability to work from 7:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
