A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GROCERY MANAGER

The Grocery Manager directs the operation of the Grocery Department (including Frozen, Dairy & Liquor/Beer), including supervising and training personnel. Manages ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking and Merchandising in the department. May direct and control the operation of the entire store in the absence of the Store Director and Assistant Store Director.

Main responsibilities:

Provide high-quality customer service aligned with company standards.

Train, schedule, and supervise grocery clerks for optimal staffing.

Manage department budget and financial goals.

Execute weekly marketing and merchandising plans.

Perform daily inventory and order supplies to maintain stock levels.

Forecast weekly sales and track daily purchases.

Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and labeling regulations.

Build and maintain produce displays and manage deliveries.

Maintain cleanliness and safety of the Grocery department.

Physical ability to lift, carry, push/pull grocery and equipment

Ability to provide regular and predictable attendance

Ability to read and comprehend guidelines and instructions
