Overview
Vegetation Management Inspector - 1 Year (Transmission) | Placerville, CA. This is a full-time, 1-year position with ACRT Pacific, LLC. The role involves outdoor work in vegetation management along utility lines, with opportunities to gain experience in forestry, arboriculture, and related fields. Responsibilities
Patrol distribution or transmission circuits according to the annual VM plan and prescribed patrol standards. Identify required tree work along PG&E rights-of-way; prescribe work, document inspections, and notify property owners/agencies as needed. Understand applicable standards and ensure inspections meet required scope. Coordinate access and obtain necessary authorizations for tree work; act as VM contact for new business and reconstruction work as requested. Perform work verification inspections and document outcomes for quality and completeness. Investigate and document tree-related outages; attend outage meetings as requested. Manage VM tags, track field activities, and notify customers for non-routine locations; assist in close-out of CC&B cases in the field when assigned. Support emergency response and field operations such as dispatching crews and first responder coordination as directed. Complete tasks independently as assigned by the supervisor; support vegetation project oversight including field operations. Participate in contractor safety and tailboard meetings; serve as a customer relations representative on behalf of PG&E; coordinate with contractors, communities, agencies, first responders, and PG&E workgroups. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (permits, traffic control plans, environmental protections, etc.). Proficient in electronic devices and documentation; complete electronic and paper-based reporting as assigned. Qualifications
Must meet general requirements: High school diploma or GED; valid Class C driver’s license; one (1) year of VMI or equivalent utility contract experience. Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist; 2-year or 4-year degree in a related field; all hires subject to PG&E approval. Required Skills
Ability to identify local trees and growth rates; learn and use company software; work in rugged terrain and inclement weather. Ability to read and follow maps; strong accountability, accuracy, and professional work quality. Adaptability, strong communication skills, creativity, dependability, and the ability to work independently. Interpersonal skills and job knowledge to perform all aspects of the role; maintain a positive attitude with customers and team. Ability to achieve and maintain required workload and performance standards. Location and Residency
You must reside within 50 miles of Placerville, CA. Compensation and Benefits
Base compensation: $43.26 per hour. In lieu of benefits: $10.82 per hour for eligible hours, for a total potential of $54.08 per hour. Union members receive a $50.00 daily subsistence payment for days worked in excess of 4 hours. Additional benefits may apply (medical, dental, vision, per‑diems, etc.). Salary ranges reflect California location considerations and applicable collective bargaining agreements. Additional Information
