Lead Software Engineer

to support our

Open Architecture Systems Integrated Software Solutions

team located in Tukwila, Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization. As the Lead Software Engineer, you will provide leadership and direction to the software development team (internal and suppliers), removing roadblocks, developing execution plans and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. You will be responsible for analyzing customer requirements, decomposing requirements into actionable tasks and planning program increments for the development team. You will be responsible for leading the implementation of the DevSecOps toolchain in the Boeing Software Factory. Engaging with key stakeholders to understand program needs, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction with delivered solutions is essential. Key responsibilities include working closely with the customer, Boeing Program Manager and Chief Engineer to ensure project requirements are met and deliverables are on schedule, leading development activities with external suppliers, and ensuring their contributions align with project goals. Position Responsibilities

Leads review, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into initial design of software products Coordinates the development, maintenance, enhancement and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products Debugs and leads resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products Leads research and implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development Leads development, establishment, monitoring and improvement of software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks Leads execution and documentation of software research and development projects Consults on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations Leads software project management activities and software supplier management functions Leads tracking and evaluation of software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards Leads the design, development, test, and maintenance of non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards Leads handling of user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues and user feedback analysis Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

5+ years of experience with Software/Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) 5+ years of experience with Software Architect and Development Lead 5+ years of experience using object oriented programming (OOP) languages such as Java, Python, C++, or equivalent 5+ years of experience working with agile teams and agile software development Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science Knowledge of host environments, processors, operating systems and networks. Ability to build, integrate and troubleshoot software components Knowledge of deriving and allocating requirements (system, sub-system, software) and showing traceability throughout the product lifecycle Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies. Ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements, characteristics and constraints Knowledge of software development processes in compliance with internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in development, testing, and deployment of software Knowledge of general and software development and testing tools, capability and usage (e.g., compilers, debuggers, data analysis tools, GUI builders, requirements management tools) Additional Information
