Life Science: Biology/AP Psychology Leave Replacement anticipated January 2026 through March 2026. Bellmore-Merrick CHSD is seeking a dedicated and qualified Leave Replacement Science Teacher for a temporary assignment anticipated to begin in January 2026 and continue through March 2026. There is a possibility that the start date may be as early as late November 2025. Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a program that includes: Regents Biology (multiple sections), including one Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) section, and AP Psychology (multiple sections). Qualifications
Required Certification:
New York State Certification in Biology (Grades 7-12) New York State Certification in General Science (Grades 7-12)
Preferred Certification:
New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities/Special Education (Grades 7-12)
Experience:
Prior experience teaching at both the Regents (high school level) and Advanced Placement (AP) level is strongly preferred. Experience in a collaborative teaching environment, specifically an ICT setting, is a plus.
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to engage diverse learners and differentiate instruction. Strong knowledge of the New York State Science Learning Standards and Regents exam preparation.
