About the role In the
Snowmobile Shop Manager
position, you will be maintaining a safe riding experience for guests while they cruise the backcountry!
In this role, you will be...
Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance on the snowmobile fleet
Supervision of the Snowmobile Mechanic team, leading the day to day maintenance and repair schedule
Operating snowcats and snow moving equipment, for grooming of trails and movement of snow in parking areas
Identifying and fixing issues that occur with snowmobiles and the shuttle vehicles promptly and expertly
Assist the Snowmobile Tour Manager with tour coordination, tour check-in and check-out.
Assisting with tour operations that support the premier snowmobile tour company in Aspen, Colorado
Maintaining the reputation of an elite snowmobile tour company of over 50 years
Duties
Managing a team of 2 shop mechanics
Becoming a certified BRP mechanic (training provided)
Snowmobile repair and maintenance
Ordering parts and supplies for Snowmobile shop operation needs
Snowcat operation
Prepping snowmobiles for tours
General vehicle and equipment repair (may include midsize vehicles, small engines, large engines,snowcats)
Communication on a two-way radio
Moving/lifting (must be able to lift 100+ lbs. without injury to yourself)
Miscellaneous mechanical duties as assigned
Additional Duties may Include:
Trail grooming and snow plowing
Shuttling guests to and from Aspen Highlands in company vehicles
Performing first aid and responding to and assisting with emergencies (per company protocol)
Shoveling snow from snowmobiles, stairs, paths, vehicles, etc., as well as snow shoveling for trail maintenance and around the premises
Hauling supplies to the Klondike and Independence cabins and warming huts via snowmobile and trailer
Acting as a back-up guide on snowmobile tours, if needed
Assisting with routine ranch maintenance
Storing snowmobiles and equipment at end of the Season
Preferred Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Previous experience operating a snowcat is a plus
Ability to multi-task while prioritizing daily tour needs appropriately
Willingness to learn our methods for snowmobile maintenance and repair
Hydraulic and/or welding experience is a plus
Requirements
Must be eligible to work in the USA
At least 21 years of age
Valid driver’s license, with no restrictions
Education level - high school or equivalent
Able to lift 100+ lbs without injury to self
Exceptional spoken English-language skills
Communication on a two-way radio
Work well in a team environment
Work in a crowded environment with various loud noises and activities
Able to withstand cold temperatures for long periods of timeImpeccable work product
Available to work 5-day work week and more during holidays
Available to work weekends, evenings and holidays
Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check
Seasonal Employment & Availability Requirement
This position is a contracted seasonal, full-time position starting approximately November 3, 2025, and ending April 15, 2026.
The Snowmobile Shop is open on all tour days, which run five days a week during non-holidays and everyday during holidays.
This position typically works five days per week, approximately 8 hrs. each day with Mondays and Tuesdays off, except during holidays.
Job candidates with planned vacations or special events during the contracted period may wish to reconsider applying.
Pays $25.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on experience (not a tipped position)
Free shared housing with private bedroom
(*utilities included, couples share a bedroom)
