Job Type: Hybrid

Position Summary The Therapeutic Mentor service is delivered by a qualified paraprofessional under the supervision of a master's‑level clinician. This service supports the implementation of the clinician's treatment plan, helping youth and their families work toward identified goals. The paraprofessional collaborates with the clinician to address the youth's mental health, behavioral, and emotional needs. This includes helping the child learn to recognize, manage, and express emotions appropriately, while also supporting the family in understanding and responding to these needs. Therapeutic Mentoring is available to families throughout the Greater Boston area and includes phone consultations and other supportive interventions as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with the assigned Clinician as a team to ensure the implementation of the goals and objectives identified in the treatment plan

Advocate for and access resources to address the youth's emotional and mental health needs

Interact with agencies (DMH, DCF, DYS, DPH, MCI, etc...) to support services/care planning and coordination on behalf of and with the youth and parent/caregiver.

Participate in all care planning meetings and processes if the youth is enrolled in Intensive Care Coordination.

Complete all necessary paperwork and data entry assignments promptly.

Respond to client emergencies as needed

Maintain contact with the site by checking voicemail and emails daily

Keep supervisor informed of progress on all cases

Adhere to M.G.L Chapter 119, Section 51A (Mandated Reporter); report all occurrences immediately to the clinic.

Adhere to clinical recommendations from clinical administration

Maintain confidentiality in all clinical matters. Adhere to HIPAA standards and regulations.

Remain compliant with billing, documentation, and minimum service delivery to substantiate each billable unit.

Soft & Behavioral Skills

Ability to communicate effectively in a community-based environment

Must be highly motivated and self-directed

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Must possess knowledge of child development, including physical, mental, emotional

Must have Clinical and Psychiatric knowledge; must have Cultural and Linguistic Competence;

Must be computer literate; attention to detail and organizational skills are critical (Experience with Google Workspace is a plus)

Strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills, willingness to work directly with clients and colleagues

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Qualifications

Associate degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or a related field required.

CANS certification is required. It may be obtained through online training.

Must have knowledge of writing in the DAP (Data Assessment Plan) progress notes format

Experience utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Welligent preferred.

Flexible schedule

Valid Driver's License, safe driving record, and access to a personal vehicle for transportation to the client's residence

Being bilingual is a plus.
