Salary:
$82,000-$103,000 (Offer will be commensurate with experience)
Hybrid work arrangement after an initial training and probationary period. Please note that business needs or specific duties impact hybrid work arrangements.
Direct, supervise, and coordinate all payroll activities in a leadership role while serving as the payroll expert for the City. Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely operations and reporting activities, including biweekly payroll processing, system administration, pay and taxation adjustments and calculations, tax filings, pay disbursements, and record retention.
Education, Training and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Public or Personnel Administration, or related field
10+ years of experience in payroll processing for 250+ employees
3+ years of supervisory/lead experience
Experience processing payroll for multiple Collective Bargaining Agreements
The City of Ann Arbor will consider an alternative combination of education and experience
Preferred
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation by the American Payroll Association
Local government experience
Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG) and UltiPro Time & Attendance (UTA) experience
