Vegetation Team Technical Support - Mechanic
Working Title: Vegetation Team Technical Support - Mechanic Location: Schofield Barracks, HI This position is responsible for performing mechanical services and repairs to include inspecting, diagnosing, and servicing of light and heavy equipment at the installation. Key responsibilities include: Performing routine maintenance tasks (inspecting, greasing, cleaning, maintaining fluids, etc.) Maintaining inventory of parts/supplies and ensuring a clean and organized workshop Driving vehicles, such as pick-up trucks, dump trucks, tractors, graders, compactors, bulldozers, loaders, scrapers, mowers, and other light and heavy construction equipment Providing support for tracking project tasks and maintenance and inspection tasks Required qualifications: Experience following directions, working cross-functionally and maintaining safety standards A High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent At least 3 years of experience inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing small and large engines Experience performing routine maintenance tasks Experience using diagnostic scanners and reading and understanding technical service manuals Preferred qualifications: 5+ years of experience inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing small and large engines Technical, vocational or trade school education Experience working on military lands ASE Certification in any of the following: Automobile Service Technology, Brakes, Electrical systems, Engine Performance, Engine Repair, Manual Drive Train and Axles, Suspension and Steering Colorado State University is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type.
