Full-time Surgical Physician Assistant – Putnam Hospital Center
The Surgical PA Service at Putnam Center is seeking a board‑certified full‑time Physician Assistant to join its team. We are a hospital‑based group that offers a supportive and team‑based environment with exposure to multiple surgical subspecialties. Responsibilities currently include OR coverage with expected growth of floor rounds, post‑op management and discharge of patients. This position is a great opportunity for growth with a high volume of DaVinci Robotic Surgery cases.
Responsibilities
OR coverage with expected growth of floor rounds, post‑op management and discharge of patients.
OR first assisting. Specialties include general surgery, urology, breast, plastics and orthopedics.
Day OR coverage with on‑call night coverage and one on‑call weekend per month currently for OR emergencies.
Growth opportunities in floor rounding, consults and admissions.
Cross‑coverage with Vassar Brothers Surgical PA Services in a limited capacity. Schedule: three 12‑hour shifts per week with one required weekend shift per month, extensive onboarding and training.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and NCCPA certified.
Strong surgical and patient management experience.
Preferably 1–3 years of surgical experience and/or surgical residency trained candidates; new graduates considered. New nurse practitioners with RNF certification and surgical experience also considered.
