! Job Summary As

Sous Chef , you will support the Executive Chef in leading daily kitchen operations, ensuring precision, consistency, and creativity across all menus while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and hospitality. This role requires exceptional culinary technique, leadership skills, and a passion for seafood in an environment that demands both fine-dining finesse and event execution excellence.

The restaurant offers a dynamic experience that blends à la carte dining, bar service, and private events in a sophisticated, high-volume setting steps from Grand Central Terminal

Key Responsibilities: Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations for lunch, dinner, bar service, and events

Lead and supervise the line and kitchen team—ensuring consistency in plating, portion control, flavor, and presentation

Drive execution of seafood-centric, globally inspired dishes aligned with Chef Becker’s culinary vision

Coordinate production and logistics for private dining, catering, and full buy-outs

Participate in menu development and seasonal updates under the guidance of the Executive Chef

Manage inventory, purchasing, and food cost controls while upholding HACCP and sanitation standards

Collaborate with front-of-house leadership to ensure seamless guest experiences

Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff to maintain a high-performing, guest-focused culture

Preferred Qualifications: Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred

4–6 years of progressive kitchen experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role

Strong background in seafood preparation, fine dining, and large-scale production

Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills

ServSafe certification and full knowledge of food safety regulations

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced Midtown environment with both daily service and events
