Department Information
The California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS) oversees twelve departments and five offices that provide a range of health care services, social services, mental health services, alcohol and drug services, income assistance, and public health services to Californians from all walks of life. More than 33,000 people work for departments in CHHS at state headquarters in Sacramento, regional offices throughout the state, state institutions and residential facilities serving the mentally ill and people with developmental disabilities.

Job Description And Duties
Under the general direction of the Deputy Secretary, in the Office of Policy and Strategic Planning (OPSP) at the California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS), the Administrative Analyst provides independent administrative support for staff within OPSP. The AGPA /SSA performs tasks in a variety of administrative support roles and is expected to consistently demonstrate a high degree of initiative; have excellent oral and written communications skills, good judgment and effectiveness in working with or through others; and perform assigned tasks with independence and follow-through. In order to meet deadlines within overlapping timeframes, incumbent must be flexible to changing priorities and be proficient in all Microsoft applications.
The AGPA/SSA is expected to engage with the senior leadership from Agency, the departments, offices, other state and local agencies, and stakeholders OPSP works with and, as a result, must demonstrate extreme tact and professionalism to accomplish regular tasks. In addition, this position may involve occasional travel. The AGPA /SSA will assist OPSP in the development and implementation of the proposals tasked to OPSP. Additionally, the AGPA/SSA will serve as a primary point of contact for the various public bodies forming as a part of OPSP, including but not limited to the Behavioral Health.
This is a 12-month limited term position and may be extended to a maximum of 24-months and/or may become permanent based on operational needs.
