Responsible for full lifecycle Project Engineering support for a range of software and hardware development, assembly, and integration and test efforts.
Essential Functions
Lead a project team to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments.
Develop, oversee, and coordinate the cost, schedule, and technical aspects of an ongoing engineering project within program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
Review status of engineering projects and budgets, manage schedules, drive execution, identify opportunities, and deliver results through achieving payment milestones.
Assess engineering issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer‑satisfaction goals.
Identify, track, mitigate, manage, and disposition program‑level risks and opportunities.
Estimate resource and material needs for the project/product.
Coordinate with resource managers/supervisors and ensure all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
Develop schedules using Earned Value and manage deployment on a DCMA surveilled program (highest rigor applied).
Participate in small teams and perform a variety of tasks to drive execution (e.g., value stream mapping activities).
Work collaboratively on quick‑reaction projects and maintain regular contact with customers.
Maintain a security clearance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
IPTL/CAM professional experience.
Experience with best practices for project engineering and program execution.
Experience managing multi‑discipline programs across multiple locations.
Experience in software development and integration programs.
Experience managing projects with total budgets of $70M+.
Experience leading an Integrated Product Team (IPTL) and driving labor resources in a matrix organization.
Experience with Technical Supplier Management, Risk, and Opportunity Management.
Experience in space telescope, optical‑mechanical development programs.
Preferred Additional Skills
Knowledge of government contract acquisition lifecycle.
Experience managing design‑to‑cost activities.
Experience with program pursuit and proposal activities.
Experience with operations and/or manufacturing activities.
Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action process and techniques.
Salary Range In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $90,500 – $168,500 in Colorado and $104,500 – $193,500 in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C., Denver, or NYC areas.
