We are seeking

Interiors Certification Engineers

(Associate or Experienced) to join Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) to support the Interiors Certification Team in

Everett, WA . The Payloads Organization is responsible for everything you see when you fly; and much of which you don’t. The Interiors of the airplane, along with the cargo compartments, exterior markings, associated systems, and cabin safety all make up Payloads. We are how our airline customers fulfill their mission and represent their brand and shape how the public experiences flight.

Our organization is a fast paced, dynamic environment, which pulls from many engineering backgrounds. This role is responsible for a statement of work that spans the product lifecycle, from engaging with customer requests through supporting post-delivery changes. The selected candidate will interface with other members of project engineering, production engineering, program/product teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions through the cabin safety certification processes. The successful candidate will combine the expertise and resources of the interiors organization to certify and deliver the best interiors products within the industry. This position serves as a pipeline path to become an Interior Crashworthiness/Interior Arrangement Engineering Unit Member (E-UM). Desire to progress to an E-UM is not required.

Payloads is seeking candidates with experience in any of the following areas:

Engineering support and project leadership within a certification system

Working with regulators

Validating/demonstrating compliance to regulatory requirements

Direct engagement working with/for aerospace suppliers or airlines

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate (Level 2) and Experienced (Level 3) Interiors Certification Engineers.

Position Responsibilities

Develop, integrate and document interior payload system certification requirements to establish the system design.

Perform or oversee approval of analyses and test/inspection results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

Develop new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.

Work with design engineers on showing compliance to the FAA regulations, developing/using issue papers, equivalent level of safety etc.

Work with or potentially as an FAA designee for interior crashworthiness.

Basic Qualifications (Required Experience)

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Material Sciences)

1+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, design criteria and engineering release processes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Experience)

5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

2+ years of experience in program or project management, leading project and/or program proposals of varying complexity (including: development and execution of schedule milestones, financial assessments, resource assessments, risk and/or issues management, etc.).

Basic understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.

Experience in aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes.

Experience working in a cross-functional team.

Demonstrates good problem solving skills and critical thinking.

Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences.

Demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range for Associate level (Level 2): $80,750 – $109,250

Summary Pay Range for Experienced level (Level 3): $96,050 – $129,950
