The Interiors Certification Team within Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking Senior Interiors Certification Engineers to join our team in Everett, WA. The Payloads Organization is responsible for everything you see when you fly; and much of which you don’t. The Interiors of the airplane, along with the cargo compartments, exterior markings, associated systems, and cabin safety all make up Payloads. We are how our airline customers fulfill their mission and represent their brand and shape how the public experiences flight.

Our organization is a fast paced, dynamic environment, which pulls from many engineering backgrounds. This role is responsible for a statement of work that spans the product lifecycle, from engaging with customer requests through supporting post‑delivery changes. The selected candidate will interface with other members of project engineering, production engineering, program/product teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions through the cabin safety certification processes. The successful candidate will combine the expertise and resources of the interiors organization to certify and deliver the best interiors products within the industry. This position serves as a pipeline path to become an Interior Crashworthiness/Interior Arrangement Engineering Unit Member (E‑UM). Desire to progress to an E‑UM is not required.

Payloads – Key Candidate Areas

Engineering support and project leadership within a certification system

Working with regulators

Validating/demonstrating compliance to regulatory requirements

Direct engagement working with/for aerospace suppliers or airlines

Position Responsibilities

Develops, integrates and documents interior payload system certification requirements to establish the system design.

Performs or oversees approval of analyses and test/inspection results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.

Work with design engineers on showing compliance to the FAA regulations, developing/using issue papers, equivalent level of safety etc.

Works with or potentially as an FAA designee for interior crashworthiness.

Basic Qualifications (Required Experience)

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)

5+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, design criteria and engineering release processes

Understanding and demonstrated certification experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Experience)

5+ years of experience in program or project management, leading project and/or project proposals of varying complexity (including: development and execution of schedule milestones, financial assessments, resource assessments, risk and/or issues management, etc.)

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Adaptable in a dynamic work environment

Designated Engineering Representative (DER), Engineering Unit Member (E‑UM), Design Approval Engineer (DAE), Certification Plan Owner (CPO), Design Engineer experience

Experience leading a cross‑functional team

Excellent communication skill, both written and oral, and ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences

Summary Pay Range for Mid‑Level (Level 4): $120,700 – $163,300. Applications for this position will be accepted until Nov. 08, 2025.

Export Control Requirements This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. is required. 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
