8‑hour shift between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm (variable start and end times).

Pay range:
$28.170–$35.210–$39.430 per hour.
What You Will Do Assist in day‑to‑day operations of the pharmacist and pharmacy department, supporting front‑end and clinical procedures including intakes, follow‑ups, and discharges. Provide pharmaceutical services that support the mission and values of Pharmacy Services and Sharp HealthCare, performing technical tasks involved in the preparation, documentation, and distribution of patient medications.
Required Qualifications
Experience documenting in an electronic medical record (EMR) and competency in Microsoft Office.
California Pharmacy Technician License (TCH) – CA State Board of Pharmacy – REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
1 year general pharmacy practice experience.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) – Pharmacy Technician Certification Board – PREFERRED
Experience working in Specialty Pharmacy.
Experience with Prior Authorizations.
Other Qualification Requirements
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent – preferred.
Essential Functions
Collaborate and communicate goals and instructions to staff, including handoffs between shifts; participate in staff orientation and training programs. Intercept and troubleshoot problems, prioritizing patient care, safety, workflow, and communication. Apply relevant policies and procedures effectively, evaluate workflow issues, and direct daily workload to achieve efficiency. Attend staff meetings and read work‑related email at least on assigned workdays.
Provide customer service to internal and external customers, fostering positive relationships with vendors, providers, and other stakeholders.
Collect and document data, including prior authorization requests, verifying eligibility and benefits coverage, applying plan criteria, and maintaining accurate databases.
Adjudicate medications in collaboration with the Sharp Health Plan pharmacy benefits manager, ensuring appropriate adjudication of authorized medications and communicating decisions within SHP turnaround timelines.
Perform special projects and duties as assigned, including audits, national and state audits, customer care issue resolution, inventory management, training of new employees, and quality checks of formulary programming.
Process prior authorization requests, evaluating requests using established guidelines, preparing documentation for approvals or denials, and communicating determinations within required timeframes.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Support pharmacists at multiple sites within Sharp Specialty Pharmacy.
Organize and prioritize multiple projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with basic knowledge of medical terminology.
