Overview
Construction Project Manager I at Medxcel, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position will plan, track, and evaluate moderately complex capital projects including scope, schedule, and budget within the Medxcel Planning, Design, & Construction organization. This role will assist in developing policies and procedures to build a standard national framework for construction. Location: Columbia St. Mary's Hospital - Milwaukee, WI.
Responsibilities
Project Management: Track all upcoming and ongoing construction projects including scope, schedule, and budget within the assigned region; report on risk/issues and key metrics.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with initiative, work plans, and established targets.
Evaluate construction projects for Medxcel Facilities Operating System requirements.
Coordinate with other Ascension departments on all aspects of project delivery.
Manage data collection for transitioning ministries related to construction projects, project management, move management, space planning, furniture management, signage, and design standards.
Evaluate current project management for all health ministries and make recommendations for optimization.
Supply required information to operational leadership to determine resources and method of delivery.
Provide E-Builder training for new hires as necessary.
Processes
Develop forms and records to document project activities.
Develop tools and resources to ensure compliance with minimal project management standards.
Outline and communicate project management standards to field project managers.
Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the status of current and upcoming projects.
Establish a method of collaboration between Medxcel Facilities Management and other Ascension departments to optimize construction management.
Develop training for on-boarded project managers and facility managers.
Document individual ministry capital approval processes as well as project management flow charts.
Develop processes for maintaining design standards, space plans, blueprints, project specifications, and other documents related to construction as required.
Organization
Maintain all project information files so they are up to date and secure.
Maintain a list of project management requirements.
Maintain project approval flow charts for each ministry.
Maintain design standards for health ministries as needed.
Maintain space plans for health ministries as needed.
Maintain or update life safety drawings as required.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor degree in related field, preferably business, architecture, engineering, construction science or healthcare related OR seven years’ relevant experience without a degree – required.
License/Certification
Certified Healthcare Constructor or Healthcare Construction Certificate – preferred.
Experience
Three years’ experience in Facilities Management or Healthcare industry – required.
Five years’ experience with project management life cycles, project processes, construction, scope development, scheduling, budgets, multidisciplinary coordination, and resource management – preferred.
