Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager of Data Modeling to lead our team in designing and implementing complex cloud analytics solutions with a strong focus on Databricks. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in data architecture, cloud technologies, and analytics, along with exceptional leadership and client management skills.
Your Key Responsibilities
Understand and analyze business requirements to translate them into technical requirements.
Design, build, and operate scalable data architecture and modeling solutions.
Stay up to date with the latest trends and emerging technologies.
Lead the design and development of conceptual, logical, and physical data models for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) using Kimball dimensional methodology.
Design and implement star schemas (Fact and Dimension tables) to support enterprise analytical, Business Intelligence (BI), and reporting requirements with high performance and query efficiency.
Define and model Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD) with emphasis on SCD Type 2 to capture historical context.
Collaboratively determine the appropriate grain for fact tables and identify measurable facts and their relationships to the surrounding dimension tables.
Design highly denormalized dimension structures to reduce joins and simplify querying for end‑users.
Collaborate with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to understand data requirements and design appropriate data models aligned with business needs.
Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories to ensure consistency and integrity.
Identify and resolve data model performance issues to optimize database performance and enhance overall system functionality.
Manage and provide guidance to a small team of 1–3 resources.
Document and communicate data model designs and standards to ensure understanding and compliance across the organization.
Create detailed source‑to‑target mapping (STM) documentation and data transformation specifications for ETL/ELT developers.
Stay current with industry best practices and incorporate new techniques into data modelling processes.
Guide the team on implementing Kimball’s dimensional modelling techniques.
Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data analysis and business intelligence.
Use industry‑standard data modelling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio) for model creation, maintenance, and version control.
Having cloud knowledge and certification will be an advantage; preferably Azure DP‑203 certification.
To qualify for the role, you must have
A Bachelor's degree in STEM.
10+ years of hands‑on experience in data modelling.
Strong understanding of SQL and data modelling concepts such as Kimball dimensional modelling.
Experience working with major enterprise relational database platforms or cloud data warehouses (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT architecture, data quality management, and metadata management.
Mastery of SCD Type 2 implementation for preserving historical data; familiarity with other SCD types is also expected.
Ability to analyze complex business processes and translate abstract requirements into precise, efficient technical data models.
Proficiency in data modelling tools such as Erwin, Visio, or Power Designer.
Experience in designing and implementing database structures.
Ability to create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
Knowledge of industry best practices for data modelling and database design.
Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements.
Experience in performance tuning and optimization of database queries.
Having cloud certification is an added advantage.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Knowledge in Hospitality Domain is mandatory.
Ideally, you’ll also have
Strong business acumen with the ability to manage complex client relationships.
Proven experience in managing and leading teams within a dynamic environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Cloud knowledge and certification will be an advantage; preferably Azure DP‑203 certification.

What We Offer You
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring. The base salary range for this role in all geographic locations in the US is $125,500 to $230,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $150,700 to $261,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
We encourage a hybrid work model. Most people in external, client‑serving roles are expected to work together in person 40‑60 % of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
