We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented
Staff Accountant
to join our team.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for a construction accounting professional ready to take on a challenge and help bring our financial operations up to speed. You'll work closely with our current accountant to clean up and maintain our financial records, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This position is perfect for someone who is organized, a problem‑solver, and comfortable with hands‑on accounting tasks.
Responsibilities
Assist in the day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
Help prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are accurately recorded.
Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
Conduct general ledger maintenance and review.
Analyze financial data and prepare reports as needed.
Support the current accountant in identifying and correcting discrepancies in financial records.
Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings.
Contribute to the implementation of new accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency.
Maintain accurate and organized financial files and records.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience in construction accounting (dealing with labor, materials, unions, etc.).
Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar financial role.
Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Proficiency with construction accounting software. Foundation is a huge plus; Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is required.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
