Linux/Elastic Systems Administrator (Mid)
Cimarron is seeking a mid-level Linux/Elastic Systems Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at either Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area or at the Redstone Arsenal in the Huntsville, AL area.
Key Duties
Analyze complex data sources and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
Deploy, configure, and maintain the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) to ensure scalability and high availability.
Develop and manage data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and enriching log data from multiple sources.
Design and maintain Kibana dashboards to visualize system performance, security events, and application health.
Clean, manipulate, and analyze large, diverse datasets to identify trends and connections.
Write scripts and code in various programming languages to automate data processing and analysis tasks.
Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Present technical findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education

Ability to complete a pre‑employment background check and drug screening, including a marijuana test.
Must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID‑compliant driver’s license or state‑issued ID at the time of hire.
Participate in on‑call rotations to provide after‑hours support when needed.
Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
6 or more years of general, full‑time work experience.
4 or more years of directly related experience.
1 or more years of experience in a management or leadership role.
Active DoD 8570.01‑M IAT Level II certification with CE (CCNA‑Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).
Active DoD 8570.01‑M CSSP Infrastructure Support certification with CE (CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, CND).
Desired Skills, Experience, or Education
Ability to interpret and integrate data from multiple tool sources for comprehensive analysis.
Hands‑on experience with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Kafka, Puppet, Ansible, Docker, GIT, RHEL, Suricata, Zeek, Neo4J, PostgreSQL, AWS Cloud, and NiFi.
Basic proficiency in Python, Bash, and markup languages such as YAML.
Ability to identify common coding flaws and recommend improvements.
Experience with SOC or DCO tools and applications (firewalls, IDS/IPS, Network Security Manager, Bluecoat, Barracuda).
Strong ability to mentor, train, and support team members in a fast‑paced, evolving technical environment.
Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
