Cimarron Inc. Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking a
Network Engineer
to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs area.
Key Duties
Partner with the support team to identify, prioritize, and resolve critical network-related issues impacting business operations. Communicate solutions to network issues and recommend emerging technologies to improve overall network performance. Assist in the design, configuration, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of IT network systems, primarily Cisco and Palo Alto-based LAN/WANs. Utilize technical writing and verbal communication skills in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Coordinate with internal and external teams to suggest technical solutions and document updates or changes to the network. Travel to remote locations to provide on-site technical setup and support during exercise events.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education :
Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at the time. This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. If you are unsure whether your ID is Real ID-compliant, please check for the star symbol in the upper portion of your driver's license or state ID. Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use. Active Secret Clearance (or higher). 1.5 or more years of experience as a Network Engineer. Experience configuring, installing, testing, or troubleshooting IT network systems, primarily Cisco and Palo Alto-based LAN/WANs. Current CompTIA Security+ or CCNA Security certification. Willingness and ability to travel 25–35% of the time to CONUS and OCONUS locations. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience documenting network changes and drafting technical diagrams.
Desired Skills, Experience, And Education
Network+, CCNA, and/or JNCIA certification. Familiarity with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, IPS, internal/external routing protocols, TCP and UDP, multicast environments, Cisco Call Manager, and VMware. Experience working with BMDS or multi-component exercises.
