Position Summary
Account Manager – Builder Channel, Premium & Luxury Appliances at Samsung Electronics America (SEA). The position is located on the Florida West Coast and reports to the Director of Southeast Region, Builder Sales. SEA, headquartered in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., is the U.S. Sales and Marketing subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and serves as a leading provider of mobile technologies, consumer electronics, home appliances, enterprise solutions, and network systems.
Role and Responsibilities
Accountable for achieving current annual sales targets and margins for all detergent appliance (DA) brands while positioning the business for continued growth in future years.
Enable distributor sales teams, both inside showroom and outside field teams, to understand and promote the dual brand strategy, product performance and features.
Review products and programs with new builders, multi‑family contacts, design centers and interior designers to identify business opportunities.
Manage showroom practices and develop showroom presence for all Samsung DA brands.
Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of single and multi‑family construction, local production, custom builders and interior designers in assigned markets.
Provide competitive market intelligence feedback to the Regional Sales Director and National Sales Director.
Identify business opportunities for distributor salespeople and collaborate to develop relationships and close contracts.
Maintain an up‑to‑date sales call plan and document all communications, ensuring distributor personnel and AM follow‑through.
Coordinate with other AMs on behalf of distributors to pursue multi‑market builder or out‑of‑market opportunities such as multi‑family projects.
Provide local support for national builder accounts as assigned and participate in regular builder/project tracking meetings with specification representatives.
Maintain total working knowledge of all marketing support materials and their optimal utilization.
Necessary Skills / Attributes
70% of time focused on sales activities with 30% in sales administration.
Track and communicate product forecasting needs to the Regional Sales Director.
Continuously upgrade sales and relationship management skills (e.g., Challenger Sale).
Strong business and trade customer performance conversion abilities.
Proficient negotiation and presentation skills.
Product training expertise in home appliances and home automation.
Proficiency in managing quote and pricing practices.
Excellent multitasking, computer, Internet, PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills.
Self‑motivated with strong time‑management and organizational skills.
Progressive sales leadership career of 5‑10+ years in the home building and remodeling industries, preferably in the home appliance sector.
Knowledge of the Super Premium/Luxury appliance segment and builder distributor integration.
Experience selling through distributor inside and outside sales personnel.
Recognized as an opinion leader within high‑performing sales teams.
History of exceeding challenging sales quotas and overcoming internal and trade‑customer obstacles.
Active involvement in local industry associations such as NAHB, NKBA and ASID.
Participation in regional or national trade shows as needed.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
