Position Overview Montana State University seeks qualified individuals to provide non‑tenure level instruction and/or related functions. Instructors will teach classes depending upon need and available funding. Appointments may be full‑time or part‑time and vary in duration (a couple weeks, a semester, or an academic year). Salary is dependent on the number of courses taught and duration.
Applications are accepted on a continual basis and will be retained in the hiring pool for up to two years. After two years, candidates will be notified to re‑submit materials for continued consideration.
Responsibilities
Teaching on‑campus or online courses.
Advising, evaluating, and assisting students.
Participating in weekly faculty meetings.
Meeting regularly with, collaborating with, and evaluating a peer leader, if assigned to your section.
Required Qualifications
Master’s or ABD in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
Current expertise and substantial knowledge in the specific field or discipline.
Experience teaching economics.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff diversity.
Union Information Positions equal to or greater than .5 FTE are represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU) and may elect to pay membership dues. Positions less than .5 FTE are not represented by the Union. Changes in FTE may affect representational status.
