The Salisbury VA Health Care System is seeking an experienced board-certified Urologist to provide exemplary care to our veterans. Duties Include:
Accountability:
Reporting to the Chief, Urology Surgery Section, responsible for clinical/surgical care delivery across the medical center while surpassing compliance standards.
Guidance:
Provides leadership to interns, residents/fellows, medical students, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Eligible for a clinical appointment at Wake Forest University.
Patient Care:
Offers compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient care promoting health, preventing illness, treating disease, and providing end‑of‑life care. Provides training and direction to support staff.
Requirements:
Citizenship:
U.S. Citizenship required. Non‑citizens only considered when recruiting qualified citizens is impossible, per VA Policy.
Education:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
Licensure:
Current, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
Residency:
Completion of an accredited residency program in a core specialty.
Board Certification:
Must be board-certified or board‑eligible.
Benefits:
Competitive Salary:
$320,000‑$400,000 per year.
Paid Time Off:
50–55 days annually (including annual, sick leave, Federal holidays, and possible CME absence).
Malpractice Coverage:
Free liability protection with tail coverage.
Comprehensive Benefits:
Dental, Medical, Life Insurance, Pension, Thrift Savings Plan (401K) with 5% match, Survivor Benefits, and more.
Continuing Education:
Up to $1,000 or more annually.
