Responsibilities
Incorporate edits and redlines to existing designs.
Facilitate ingestion of supplier drawings into the Sentinel program tool set and workflow.
Develop basic data and make preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposals.
Investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength‑weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost. Coordinate with other organizations affected by design development.
Make layouts of complex assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures. Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and 5 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience; PhD with 1 year of experience.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar.
Experience with CPLM Teamcenter or similar.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Experience working with COTS hardware and suppliers.
Ability to understand and interpret requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction.
Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts.
Exposure to missile program requirements & propulsion.
Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX.
Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM.
Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009.
Salary & Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $86,600.00 – $136,800.00.
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
